May interact with medications that increase the risk of bleeding, including aspirin, anticoagulants ("blood thinners") such as warfarin (Coumadin(R)) or heparin, anti-platelet drugs such as clopidogrel (Plavix(R)), and nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs such as ibuprofen (Motrin(R), Advil(R)) or naproxen (Naprosyn(R), Aleve(R)). Maca may act as a stimulant and cause hypertension (high blood pressure).
